An NFL game is more important than the Sandy Hook massacre to these people

Apparently, folks get all angry and stuff when you mess with their NFL.

These toolbags reacted with outrage when the nation’s first black president interrupted their NFL broadcast to speak about a tragedy that’s collectively ripped everyone’s hearts out.

Deadspin has a list of some of the racist and disrespectful tweets folks felt the need to spew when NBC pre-empted the first quarter of an NFL game with President Barack Obama’s speech on Sunday. As you know, the president spoke during a memorial service to honor those slaughtered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Conn., Sunday evening.

Some of the tweets include:

@Jard212 Obama you stupid sand nigger get off my tv. Your just making the families hurt and miss their kids more and I want to watch football

@Brandon_Ortiz13 really? can’t even watch sunday night football cuz our nigger prez has to talk, really?

@slow_bern So Obama is going to interrupt my football? I wanna see Tom Brady not Barack, Michelle and their fugly ass kids.
@dennissteakin Omg obama stfu and put the game back on lime youre Muslim ass gives a fuck about sandy hook.
@_JackNForTweets Obama You My Nigga I Voted For Yo Ass TWICE But PLEEEEASE Get The Fuck Off The Screen Right Now Damn
Y’all get the idea…
I should note that many of these folks actually have either deleted their accounts, been suspended by Twitter or have changed their tweets to be protected in light of this article being published.
It’s actually quite enlightening to know that there are some folks who were more concerned about getting their weekly Tom Brady/New England Patriots fix than to hear what the commander-in-chief had to say to a small town that lost 20 children.
I was actually getting worried that we as a country would actually set aside our trivial pursuits and show respect and remorse for the fact that 26 sets of parents/guardians, siblings, family members, husbands, wives and friends will have a gaping hole in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
Lord knows we could have been watching something more important than the president of the United State’s attempt to comfort a country shaken to its core by the misguided, despicable actions by one young man…
