Refuge is partnering with make-up artist Lauren Luke, a makeup tutorial expert to launch a campaign called Don’t Cover It Up, a PSA that encourages women to not conceal their bruises from domestic violence with make up or other accessories.
The purpose of the campaign is to get women talking about domestic violence and the physical and emotional toll it has on victims.
While the video shows Lauren’s bruises and cuts to be fictitious, I think it gives the audience a general idea of the length many women to through to mask the physical–and psychological–pain inflicted on by so-called partners and/or husbands/wives.
