The nation has been understandably shocked by the assassination attempt on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
However, the life of another young woman hangs in the balance as Phylicia Simone Barnes, 16, has not been seen or heard from since Dec. 28. The teenager who hails from Monroe, N.C., was visiting her half-sister during the Christmas holidays in Baltimore when she disappeared. The FBI and the Baltimore Police Department are conducting the investigation and Baltimore Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for her discovery.
Below her mother Janice Sallis talks with ABC News about Phylicia, who she calls “her special baby.”
If anyone has any pertinent information regarding Phylicia’s whereabouts, contact the Baltimore Police Department’s tip line toll free at 1 (855) 223-0033.
