The Log Cabin Republicans are holding their convention this weekend in Washington, D.C., to discuss their future in the Republican Party. In the video, Politico interviews Chairman Terry Hamilton, who dishes about the future of gays in the party, whether if it’s easier to be a gay Republican or a gay Democrat and if Meghan McCain is a new gay icon.
Some of the people who are set to attend include Steve Schmidt, Sen. John McCain campaign’s senior adviser and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s campaign manager, former New Jersey Govenor Christine Todd Whitman, Cindy and Meghan McCain, Dr. Nathaniel Frank author of Unfriendly Fire: How the Gay Ban Undermines the Military and Weakens America and Rear Admiral Jamie Barnett (Ret.) and Congressman Tom Davis of Virginia.

It’s ironic that you fail to see any big-name Republicans on the guest list. But, who can blame them? Who wants their constituents to see they are rubbing shoulders with “the enemy who seeks to overthrow our long-standing American values?”

  1. >I'm so disappointed in these log cabin Republicans. They need to reorganize, become independent, and advocate strongly for gay people. Right now, they're just dupes of the Republican Party, which views as little more irritating, though occasionally, entertaining after-thought. Ugh ugh ugh.
