>CNN has projected that Illinois Sen. Barack Obama will win the South Carolina Democratic primary.
This does not surprise me at all. Bill and Hillary Clinton’s arrogance towards black voters may have swayed voters. Or Sen. Obama’s campaign may have succeeded in getting out the vote of all Democrats in South Carolina.
I’m sure the media will play Sen. Clinton’s loss as black Democrats rejecting the old stalwarts of the Democratic Party for a new kind of leadership. Or that black voters are tired of white Democrats taking their support for granted and aligned themselves with Sen. Obama just because he’s black.
What do you think? Did Sen. Clinton’s aggressive attacks turn off voters? Or did black voters, as the media assumed, vote their race instead of for issues? Or did Sen. Obama’s message of inclusiveness resonate with all voters, black or white?
